On the third weekend of May, San Carlos and its surrounding communities get together for one of the most colorful and fun outdoor events in the country as they celebrate Hometown Days. The event started in 1979 as a project by then Mayor Pat Bennie, with the aim of fostering relations in the community while earning funding for non-profits in the community with little to no expense. After more than 3 decades, the event still retains its original goal, but has grown in size to accommodate more than 12,000 attendees. If you plan to be one of these participants, you should know the nearby San Carlos urgent care facility in case of a medical emergency.
